Kwan Yi

Mr. Yi has been praised by audiences and critics alike as a pianist of “lyrical elegance” and “ravishing, pitch-perfect clarity.” He has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Chicago Symphony Center, the Library of Congress, the Auditorium du Louvre and Suntory Hall, with many of the great orchestras of the world as well as in recital and with chamber groups. He has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman and Roberto Diaz on national tours and performed at the Kronberg, Ravinia and Castleton Festivals. A graduate of the Curtis Institute, The Juilliard School and the Peabody Institute, Mr. Yi has worked with Leon Fleisher and Robert McDonald; he is currently on the faculty at East Carolina University. Mr. Yi will be performing the Liszt B Minor sonata, Beethoven’s Appassionata and works of Debussy. This concert is a benefit performance for East Carolina University, and all proceeds will be going to support the annual ECU Piano Festival.s.
